Well, as a new attendee to the site (I have been before but in the very dim distant) I was very impressed by the whole set up. Sometimes locals at sites can be a bit cliquey but they couldn't have been more welcoming here. The marshalling was hands on and well managed but at no point seemed overbearing. Games were good old-fashioned skirmishes and that is in no way a criticism. I was out and about all day and never felt that I was missing out on the action as the defensive moments were pretty short. Sportsmanship was obvious on both sides and to my knowledge there was no cheating or tempers lost despite the heat.
The safety brief was succinct so we got going pretty quickly. Lunch was spot on too! (What a range of sauces, chilli burger ftw!)
If I had a criticism at all, it was that the breaks between games were sometimes a bit long and players were slow to get going, though I understand that this was to make sure everyone stayed well hydrated as it was a warm day.
I was told that a lot of work had gone into the site, erecting structures and the like. They were a welcome addition and showed how much the venue is supported by folk willing to give up time.
All in all, a great site with a positive atmosphere engendered by both staff and players.
